Hello guys,
My son's away in training and has left his XR8 with me to care for. I've had it sitting for almost 5 weeks, tried starting it up but went...click click click click. Seems like the battery is flat. I'm not to familiar with V8. Should I simply jump it up? Should I remove battery and get it charged for few hours? |

It needs to be charged, I use a trickle charger permanently connected so I don't have this occur as I use it infrequently at times. These cars are sensitive to low voltage so once you charge it try and un it once a week. Good luck.

Thanks for your advice GT450...got the battery on charge since morning and will put it back on bout 4ish...it's looking good.

Oh I should have mentioned , never ever leave the keys in the ignition, even when off, as it's a sure way of flattening the battery to a level where you will need a jump battery to even get it to take a charge.
I forgot to remove them at one time and flattened a nearly new battery, hence why i now leave the trickle charger permanently connected. GT450 |

If you don't remove the key completely it will keep some of the modules alive which I can assure will drain your battery if you do not use it for some time. the key needs to be removed to shut down entirely.

Thanks...had the battery on charge for approx. 8 hours (was a new battery that when flat) and it's back on all systems working ok.
