That's impressive. It beat a heap of Euros and is positioned 14th of all-time with a base price of 70k? Even 140k that's great. I guess they're back.

Great video, thanks for sharing! Very impressive (brave & skillful) drive, the new Camaro seems to be in its element there at the ring.

I think this would make the GT350 look like a child around there (GT350R did a 7:32). 130+ more HP, a boat load more torque and a better chassis. The Camaro chassis is seriously good from what I understand.

I don't think the Ford ever gave an official number for the GT350R.
I'm more impressed that the Camaro destroyed the euros (except Porsche). So much for anything American is only good in a straight line.....

So good to see a bloody manual around there. The autos are boring as bat poo. That's some pretty good wheel work there.

Last of the Vipers gets timed next month so I hear. It's a naturally aspirated RWD manual production car with a base price of 130k.

That is a serious bit of kit and driving right there. Great effort.
Would also like to see a lap around Laguna Seca too for comparison. Hats off to GM.

Noticed the Top Gear facebook post claiming it's faster than a 911 GT2 RS... of course they conveniently forgot to mention it was the 2010 model
 Maybe they should change the title to "650hp ZL1 ILE only 3 seconds slower than a 911 GT3 around the 'Ring" Regardless, 7:16 is an impressive time for a Camaro with 305/325 section tyres and a big wing. And good to see they used the manual version.. I suspect they realised the 10-speed auto is actually slower due to all the extra gear shifts. Eagerly awaiting the new GT500... rumours are it will have over 750hp !
