Hi guys,
I have a question regarding the calipers on the front of my EA. I replaced the standard (and warped) rotors with DBA slotted about 3 months back as well as chucking on a new set of Bendix Advance pads. Concern #1 is the way the pads are using both rotors. The inside pads on both sides are using all of the rotor, whereas the outside pads are only using about two-thirds (About one third of the rotor closest to the hub has no wear marks). Do I have a major problem here? Concern #2 is the movement of the caliper itself on the slides. I can actually move the caliper left/right and up/down on the slide (as opposed to its normal in/out motion). Its not a huge amount but a concern none the less. Are my slides stuffed? Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks guys! Mark. |

your slides need grease. use a high temp grease and if the rubber boots are stuffed replace them. dry slides will cause your brakes to drag on one side.
