well i got the car back today. turnes out it was the head gasket. mechanic informed me that if you undo the head bolts you have to get new ones. well last time they were undone they werent replaced so that caused the problem.

just myself- but my immediate friends, & never changed the bolts as far as i am concerned-- its crap, even in the books it says nothing about head bolt replacement. The head being alloy should be machined (shaved) also ea ed are prone to corossion around water inlet areas being alloy, as i have had mine welded a few times over many years (alloy heads) The head bolts are drop forged -its a sales pitch from engine reconditioners. I have never changed them & had no problem. These tossers do anything to get your dough.

The head bolts will be fine unless they have been over tightened.

All ive been told by 2 engine reconditioners who are friends that the headbolts SHOULD be changed unless they have been changed very recently.
