They are both the same, the only difference is the tickford one has the wings on top of it.
I recently bought a snorkel from my loacl Ford dealer, it's an EF/EL XR8 and EL GT snorkel (all the same part). Part number is EFTVE 9A624 A. I chose this because it didn't have the tickford wings, I'm again false advertising :P I asked the dude to show me both the GT and tickford snorkles and the sized up the same ;)

Oh, here's a pic of it...
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...6&postcount=29 You can *just* see it there in the bottom photo The GT snorkel was a direct swap over, take the old one off, bolt the new one on!

If you've got a V8 the AU snorkel needs some modifications to fit. If you've got a 6 I believe it goes straight in ;)

Id prob go EL GT because its straight in, where as the AU XR one required some cutting and re hole drilling.
How would this mod, improve my 97 EL GLi Falcon, is it worth the $40??? Thanks Guys Paul |

you need to fit a K&N filter or another brand to get the best results. On another site an EL 6cyl with a gt larger sorkel with a redline filter made an extra 3rwkw on the dyno and its was a hotrun. so they do make a difference. I personally didn't notice a diffence until the k&n filter was slapped in. then it went like a 'cut snake'.

I couldn't get the AU Tickford snorkel to fit in my '98 EL 6 because it hit the thermo fans. No amount of fiddling around could get it to fit.
