Well after a lot of thought i have deciceded to bite the bullet and get some extractors but not sure what to get i was told that getting pacemaker extractors on a stock engine will slow the car down and a set of hurricanes or wild cats or genie ones would be more beneficial but in the end i am wanting to get a larger cam and headwork done but all that will have to wait about 6months or so .so is it better for me to get the pacemakers or go the cheaper ones for the time being ?
thoughts and suggestions are most welcome

Hijacking the thread a bit, but at the same time useful info, how do Lukey extractors compare to the others? I've searched the forums and found a lot of conflicting stories, some say they're crap, dont waste the money, a few say that they'll give the best gains. Are they really as crap as people say they are?
Would you get noticeable gains at all?

I got the Pacemaker Comps (4480) the other weekend, $450 on ebay. IMO they are a good extractor, better than my old Genies. I also researched just about every extractor post on the forums before deciding between the Pacemakers or the JMM's. IMO the JMM's are not worth the extra cash. If there IS a difference in power between the two, you are not going to feel it. The Ford 6 engines benefit from small primaries and both the JMMs and Pacie comps have 1.5" primaries.

What about the pacey Tri-Y's? I've heard pacey competitions rob the engine of low-down power...

in all honesty you will never get a definate aswere on any forum known to man...all i have to suggest is go with what you can afford and what you think will be right for you,,don't let others talk you into buying what they have as there car is not the same as yours and you will not get the same gains as them either,,talk to people fair enough but the final decision is yours and yours alone,,i don't have either headers or extractors so i don't really care,,but i do care when people are bamboosalled into buying something they really don't need.

well after much thought i ended up going with the hurricane race series headers cause that was all the money i had at that point in time i could have got the pacies but i would have been left with no money at all. so it would of ended up having no money and a car that goes just as slow as what it did. i will upgrade later on but for now they are giving me just what i need a quick power fix hehe
