Hello everyone.
First post on this forum Looks like a great place. Is this a shoot off from the fordforums.com?? I didn't like that site Anyway down to business. I'm not trying to sell these things, just trying to find out what theyre worth. The wreckers don't seem to like giving out prices unless your handing over cash to them. I have an EBII Fairmont Ghia V8 wreck that I plan on selling parts from. Its a nice car and interior. It has the Leather seats (full which i beleive were an option on the ghia at the time. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on these items? Dash cluster - will suit a V8 only, no smartlock light and 250,000 km on the odo Trip computer - black face Climate control unit - Black face Leather interior - Drivers seat is very worn, the side boulster is very bad. The rear seat has a couple of scuffs, the front passenger is good condition Door trims - Excellent condition with wood grain bits Manual conversion - Clutch is all but dead and box needs rebuild Power window switches - the ones in the centre console Centre console - with good condition leather lid I don't think there's much else worth selling from this car. What have you guys paid for these kinda things?? This isn't a thread to sell these items I'll make one when I start to pull the car to bits. I was thinking of ebay but maybe on here would be easier? Thanks in advance for your help everyone |

I'll put in an offer right now on the door trims, but it's probably best to wait till you put up a for sale thread.
Assuming the power window switch is working, by itself would probably be worth 50-ish - sell it as part of a conversion with 4 regs and the loom and you'd probably get $300. The console, if it's complete and the lid is still in good nick, probably 50-60? There are plenty of old for sale threads if you wanted to get a better idea. The V8 5 speed conversion could fetch a fair bit depending on the buyer ;) As for ebay, the norm seems to be (to me anyway) sell what you can here first, then ebay the rest. Quote:

Spope: Thanks for the heads up. The drivers side window, I think the reg is stuffed. It gets halfway up and I think the runner where it bolts to the bottom of the window is woirn out as the window kinda tilts and grabs for a few cm then carries on up. The switches all work properly. I know because I took the car off my son for 6 months and used it myself after he got caught doing 110 in a 60 zone but got off on a technicality. Then 2 months after he got it back he was involved in a 3 car accident where he was rear ended and shunted into another car while at a set of traffic lights. It was amazing the ford had a fair amount of rear end damage which was the main reason it was writen off. He was shunted into a VS/VR? commodore which was also written off the thing was completely folded up in the boot area.
Cruizin EB: Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I looked at your web page about your car. What are JJ alloys?? I hope you don't mean the little number stamped into the inside of your stock rims? And also is your avatar pic a self pic of when you were younger? If so you were a pretty goofy looking baby! I bet your mum loved you however. Also in your signiture, you have spelt 'doomed' wrong. You have spelt it as domed |
