Default Brisbane & Gold Coast aerial pics

Brisbane and Gold Coast aerial photography is available online now for all your Banana Benders,so if you input your address of your residence you should be able to see it from the sky.

Still pretty shonky by the looks of it. It only covers in Brisbane city only. No Redcliffe, no Redlands and Logan is only partly done. Cool but not very useful for a lot of folks.

That's pretty cool, but the pictures are dated 1999. It shows my house under construction, before I had grass or a driveway.

How do you know the pictures are from 1999?

I was really surprised to find my house on there as it was only built in 2001. The picture also shows the shed and driveway completed as well as most of the landscaping (the picture shows the front yard complete with 20 cubic meters of topsoil in a pile!) which we didn't finish until at least 2003 ish.

More updated then the local council aerial shots though!

Cheers, Tori

i think we cant really put a date on any of those pictures. they are mapping new places all the time and no doubt are using pictures with different dates, even when doing 1 area (ie brisbane)

for the record my house was moved to its current location in 2001 and it's shown.

google earth rocks!

Google Earth has a picture of my house when we had our pool so thats how I know its old as. Ive been wondering is there any way to update the images on a regular basis or is that only done when they upgrade the program?

About that other site. I found it had better pictures than Google Earth plus its more recent (2004).

im pretty sure once they do an area, it's done.

it's a pretty massive project so they would focus on doing areas that havent been done yet. back in 2004 before google bought it, when it used to be "Keyhole earthviewer" they hadn't even touched ANY part of australia

Ok I did some checking and got my dates wrong, My house was built in 2001 and the photo shows my house without the patio roof, which was the first thing I added when we moved in, so I reckon the photo was taken approx May-june 2001. I used the link from the first post and not google thing.

In our area, southern NSW, we have worked out that the pictures are around 1 or 2 years old maximum.
