Default Which one of you crazy buggers was it?

Sorry if its a repost.

But on the news last night there was a P plater with 4 mates in a car clocked at 170kph.

Now if this wasn't stupid enough it was done in an EA. Its looked like it was Le Mans red with some eb s pack rims. Had a few ford stickers on it aswell, when they panned around the car the tyres were as bald as anything aswell.

Im hoping its not someone here, because acts like that I am sure will not be tolerated. The car didn't have a club sticker that I saw, thankfuly, imagine the heat we would cop then.

Anyone know who it was? :jab:

I saw that on the news, and was just dumbfounded. How on earth do you stop an EA travelling at 170 kph in an emergency situation? I just can't beleive someone could be that stupid.
Not to mention that to get the car to that speed, he would have had his foot flat to the floor for some distance.
The even worse part of the story was he was carrying 4 passengers!
I would hope that they throw him behind bars for such recklessness - not just a fine and/or license suspension. I didn't hear what the actual punishment was, unfortunately.

I think our members know better, and there are lots of EAs on the roads. People like this give drivers of older Falcons a bad name and we as a Club have to actually compensate with extra responsible driving. This remains our goal.

Stoned to death thats a bit harsh.. depends what type of road it was on... if it was a deserted back road thats understandable but if it was suburban roads its pretty crazy speeds

Let me guess... girlfriend was sitting on front passenger seat?

I hear this moron is facing 20+ charges...

On a lighter note...? From new.com.au:

Quote:
Police said the mother of the 19-year-old Rosebud man was so angry at his early morning antics that she asked him how he would have felt if police had come to his front door and told him his son had been killed
Yes, how would he have felt if he had been killed?

There is no need to over compensate, but I do comment the initiative to encourage a responsible image. The lunatic elements are not required and best weeded out.

ok no one posted up the proper story! it says the driver led police on a chase of speeds up to 200kmh on the mornington peninsula freeway, also the car turned its lights off at multiple intervals, all passengers were intoxicated.

thats alot worse than the original statement of just saying they were clocked at 170

Damo, I actually thought it was your car until I saw the slats on the C pillar.

we can manage 80mph on the 1/4 mile... and a freeway is a lot longer.
these high speeds (110-120mph) wouldn't be hard to reach on a long stretch of freeway.
insane!

Lets keep in mind admissions of illegal speeds are not permitted on the forums.

Aren't EA driveshafts rated to 180? I hope he had a driveshaft loop fitted. The slightest mechanical fault at those speeds and its game over!

EA, yeah it maybe BS... but it doesn't even take 100rwkw in a falcon to get those speeds relatively quickly, and with 5 people... well, i think it's possible given a fair road like a freeway ;)

At least the idiot didn't give the excuse "i wasn't speeding... i was qualifying". So are we putting money on the car being modified or standard?

I say standard or relatively close to stock :P I know most won't agree, but i think it needn't be modified to do those speeds... Then again, an EA isn't quite as refined as the later e-series... I dunno :P
