About 4 months ago I purchased my 1994 EF Falcon, shes the red beast slammed on BA XR 17"s. Some of you may have scene her in show & shine. I put a post up here about getting sprayed by a damn liberty. The car has started to lose power and was drinking water the past few weeks, so I decided to do a little investigatiion!!
We dropped the oil to see if any water was there and she was nice and dark with lots of texture. So off we went searching for a split hose and upon getting it up in the air, looking behind the manifold it seemed a welsh plug was leaking. Quick $3.95 fix to replace it myself, then it kept on leaking - NOT GOOD. At this point, we ripped off all the manifold again and found that it was coming from between the block and the head - Gasket. In taking off the rocker cover we found all grey muck and water everywhere - really nice hey : On from here, I started undoing head stud bolts, guess what? the 2 at the back on the drivers side had been over tentioned, snapped and left like that by someone doing previous work- can you believe it?! So anyways, after fuming for a few days off she went to a workshop and all is back together and man she gets up and hauls **** like no 2morrow now. Kind glad I discovered this early but just a word of advice, always be care where and who you by a car from guys. While I am here, I need to find someone to install a GAS system for me - anyone wanna earn some quick cash and beer? : |
