It may not look like much, but these little beauties will finally allow me to adjust the ignition timing on my EF.
From here on in i don't think i'll be running on ULP much (ignition advance will be too much i'm guessing) but LPG will love it! for a grand total of about $300 i'll have programmed ignition timing while still using the stocko EF coil pack and sensors funniest part, both my licence (from vicroads) and this ignition controller (from the US) were meant to be sent at the same time... for some reason the US package arrived first :|

Where are you getting a base tune from? Can this also be linked into the knock sensor for auto advance/retard?

should be getting a base tune from a modified EB, his running PULP so i should have a bit of leeway there.
unfortunately it doesn't have any inputs for auto retard etc, but for the price i'm happy

Moving the dizzy only offers static advance.

programmable ignition controller.
ie. aftermarket ECU for ignition timing only (don't need fuel control because its on LPG)

honestly no idea how compatible it would be.
i imagine it'd work some how but no sure exactly. this is where i get mine and the related info: hxxp://picasso.org/mjlj/ Today i got the car semi running, realised i had to leave the leads on the normal order (coz they're paired by firing order) so it was running with the timing hard set to 10 degrees BTDC (kinda a limp home mode thing) it wasnt overly happy running like that so i'm assuming there is still either a coil pack wiring related problem or it doesn't like 10 degrees BTDC. anyone had their car running with the timing set to 10* BTDC? how did it run?

got it running better today, still some minor issues.
firstly it seems the ECU *really* likes having a tacho signal. as far as the cars concerned the cars not running, warning lights on the dash stay on, thermo fans don't switch on, no tacho (expected) the cars got a bit of a miss though, with the timing light i can see a miss & hear it too. care refused to idle but that could be ISC related. I've gotta determine if the crank angle sensor signal can be split between 2 ECU's and hopefully the stock ECU is happier with that outcome :P

another update, seems the crank angle sensor signal can be split without problem, i tapped back into it and fed it back to the ECU, the cars a lot happier with it running properly.
tacho signal and everything is based from the crank angle sensor which is good to know So yes, now that the cars happy i have the car fooled into thinkings its doing everything it should, there is still a miss on what seems to be cyl's 1 & 4. i'll try a few things to try and get that fixed tomorrow. the ISC is also cracking it, when connected it opens to its wide open position and the car's idling at about 1300rpm, when disconnected the car is on the virge of stalling and then does, not sure what to do about that yet :P

You might need to do a code check on the stock ecu to see if anything has come up. The idle is fine tuned with the ignition timing by the stock ecu. The other thing is that the isc valve is in the full open position when the engne is revving while driving. Perhaps the signal from the crank angle sensor isn't strong enough for it now causing some probs. You'll get it sorted. Otherwise slot a dizzy into it as well! You don't need the sequencer if you aren't running petrol any more

i've figured out the idle issue may be related to the MAP sensor vacuum pipe being missing :P
i borrowed it for the 'new' map sensor and thus the factory one would be getting a WOT signal. and since karl just said the ISC is fully open when driving, the ECU would think the cars @ WOT and thus ISC wide open and screwing the idle! time to source another vac source.

it was 100% this morning, unplugged the MAP sensor and started the car, flawless, idled as it was meant to, drove properly, seemed normal.
i drove it about 20km, and had switched the car off in that time etc. i was stoked but... i started fiddling and trying to make it look nice, and taping up wires mounting stuff properly and now its idling high again, car still drives ok but the idles not the best. will have to check for some vac leaks tomorrow as the map sensor is still not plugged in. anyway, heres the pic before i started tidying.
