hey just wondering how do you remove the water pump pully i thought it was a hex key like the power steering but the it aint any info would be great need urgent help cars in peices cheers guys

when we've done it we used a pully puller kit, or a press.
press made it really easy :P

but on the inside of the new pump there is a thread i just couldnt see it being pressed cause you need to get the pully off to be able to get the pump off

you dont need the pulley off to take the pump out.
I just got a new pulley with the new pump ($10 extra) and pressed that on. |

i've never taken the pully off to take the pump off.

well i deffinatly cannot get the socket on properly cause the pulley is in the way

got it bastard of a thing also the metal peice that goes into the back of the pump hows that come out? i dont wanna force it does it just slide out

yeah it just slides out, its most likely just stuck from silicone

Sometimes with aftermarket pumps they don't come with a pully. Ford has a special tool for removing and installing the pully. They are just a press on fit as others have said. the problem with the plastic ones is they tend to shatter when being pulled off.
