Hello everyone,
It appears that I have a stuffed head gasket (at the least) or a stuffed head on my EF fairmont. Obviously my first thought was merry christmas. I have in my possession a reconditoined head from a EA ford. What I need to find out is if this head off the EA would fit onto the block of the EF. Looking for some good news to carry me into christmas Cheers and thanks for replying in advance. |

get the EF head checked, it may be ok anyway.
but the EA head will fit striaght on, not sure what it'll do the static compression, but it'll go on with no probs. the only issue is the rocker cover may not seal completely properly..

EA head on EF will will bump the compression up. Personally, I would get the EF head checked out, and as long as its not completely stuffed sell the EA head and recon the EF. You can probably get away with a skim to square it up. If your happy to do the spanner work yourself you should be able to get back on the road for ~$150.
