Thought I would post up whats happening at the moment
Well as some of you know, my current motor is worn, and thats an understatment (Ask Thanatos about my exhaust :P) Ive been working on a new motor for a while that is going to be fitted THURSDAY NIGHT : just in time for AFD as long as the head vacs up good on tuesday Motor is a reco 3.9 block with EF head, EF cam, EL Tickford rockercover. I had found a EL2 Tickford style head and cam but the head was so far gone it was useless, but im sure the EF one will do fine. Also this week the following is being fitted Psyco chickens old 3:23 SS diff (Damn EB bush's) Clear modded EB fairmont Garnish Restaining of Interior woodgrain inserts. I also Fitted this week a new QMAX subbox, with Kicker EX sub which sounds sweet on the VDO amp. Ill post up updates as it goes along

Breathtaking :P
How do you restain the woodgrain bits? Arent they plastic? Your cars coming along quite nicely. Least you got thurs fri and sat (and i guess sunday morn) to get your motor in. Going on past experiences when you have something you need the car for and your working on the car nothing goes right.

The cows don't like the hills, chances are you'd find more around my place :P I like that sub box - looks very nifty. Hopefully the motor goes in without a problem, but I'll be kind of dissapointed if I don't read a "where the hell does this spare bolt go?" thread from ya ;) Looks like my car isn't gonna win any more Mick :( |

No no, you've got that all wrong. Here in civilisation we don't have EA's dumped over the road from our houses and we have street lights.

The only reason you're only 40 minutes from Melbourne is the fact everyone comes to live on this side of town to get away from Geelong.

After running around all day to make sure ive got everything, and "enjoying" my old motor for the last time, and I cant say thats a sad thing :P Thought id put up some pics for the sake of it This image is for anyone who was at xrated's modday and remembers my stupidity of calling my clutchfan a "propellor" as you all have heard now We did find some interesting things thou..... 1. ALL THE BITS CAME UNDONE EASY! hmmm explains all my creaks,etc 2. My Torque converter is red? Does anyone know what the colours mean? dellboy tells me that his was green? The new motor will be going in... well tonight since its 12:10am. Lets hope there isnt any suprises and it actually starts : Big thanks to Al (Gunns), Jason (Dellboy) and John (John_Xr6) for the assistance lifting it out

Well the new motor is in....... CANT START IT THOU!!!!! :jab:
After Dellboy, John_xr6 and I getting the thing ready to be dropped in around 3pm, we couldnt get the harmonic ballancer off my old motor. Some Peanut had siliconed it on?? : After some of Dellboys Inventive idea's we got the balancer off to find that its cracked down the center of it where it mounts onto the crank. : Well atleast the Engine is now in, and the trans is all bolted up. Thanks to this damn Balancer, this means no AFD for me! Anyone got a EA Series 2 / EB/ED Balancer, PLEASE PM me ASAP

* UPDATE *
After Spending most of the day under and around the EA, while all you guys had fun down at geelong, I Got quite a bit of work done. All the Intake Manifold stuff is on, Cleaned all the Wiring loom connections, etc. Ordered a new Harmonic Balancer in at $70 which is a great price compaired to $95 as most places wanted. Took a pic as of what it looks like now with the new rocker cover
