yes we know that.....it doesnt say anywhere that he's trying to sell it as an ED XR6.....
i still dont see anything wrong with the ad.........maybe if it had an asking price of eg $4500 i'd laugh at it......but for the price its got on it, it'd be cheap - and if it were local id consider buying it, cleaning it up and selling it off.... |

But I still see nothing wrong with it (except for the 12 slotters and "twin lights"...)

his droped a 3.9 mpfi in to a eb, and if you look at the bootlid garnish it has a falcon badge on it.
and it's funny coz the car is cheaper than what u would normally pick the twin lights up for. luke |

It's an EB1 S. Has wrong trim for an XR, and it's a 3.9i. Would be a pretty good buy if it goes for under 1k, as people have said the lights are worth that + it's a manual.
He is a tool though if he thinks he can pass it off as a genuine XR 6 |

ur right there damo. those lights are worth $600 by them selves, then uve got the manual, prob $700 there. if it sells for $1300-$1500, its a good buy.
who cares what he calls it, u see the price and look at the goods it has

He's got 12 slotters, so he's probably off in his own little world where he doesn't realise it's not an XR6.

Yeah, it's got the EA/EB1 S-pack interior, a 3.9L engine and XR6's did not come out until Series II.

Hey guys, the guy isn't a tool! I happen to know him well. He's been my most trusted mechanic for several years.
Yep he's got the add discription wrong, but that's becuase he's a chev/holden man through & through, he doesn't know his fords as well as we do. At first glance of my S-pack he thought it was a fairmont. But trust me under the bonnet he knows whats what! Give him a break.

Looking at it closely it looks like an EB series one s-pack, it has the xr6 badge on the garnish. It's not his personal car, he sells several cars regularly for profit.

Bit dodgy advertising it as an XR6 though when its clearly not.....even my mum would be able to put the correct car type in a for sale ad.
If a mechanic can't even get that right then i'd be a bit worried leaving my car with him! |

I agree, he shouldn't advertise it as an XR if it's not.
But the guy knows what series it is, so if it's EA, EB etc. He doesn't fuss with the variants because it doesn't concern him when working on them. As for leaving your car with him, no probs there, never had a complaint with his work. He's built some awesome cars over the years but i'll admit he knows more about his yankee cars. Anyway that's enough from me.

They're not genuine ED XR lights. So they're not worth as much as some of you think.

I think the non-genuine are valued at around $500?
Anyway, as long as the buyer has done their research and realises it's no XR6, it will be a decent buy. As Doug said, you have to do research before buying into apparent bargains on Ebay. |
