I would have refused to pick it up until they fix all the problems. Then they can't claim you may have added any more problems after you picked it up

So would have I. How many panel shops in Cairns?
If the insurance accesor can see poor workmanship & your not just a whinger to them you won't have a problem the panel shop will. Make make sure you remove any items and check your milage as they will be ИИИИed to do the job again

The car had been back three time already the insurers already knew the fact that I was not happy. But as far as not pickin it up had no choice. Had a family emergency and needed the car. So lucked out there. Got an appointment with the assesor on tuesday morning to have it checked out.

Push hard and don't give up.....its going to take some work on your part (which isn't fair) but unless you continue making it an issue they will consider your repair invoice closed.

I had to take my car back five time to get it right. My girlfriends car had to go back 3 times and still isn't right. There are too many shoddy panel shops out there and they are being encouraged by the insurance companies.

Keep taking it back to the insurer not the repairer - they are responsible for the repair and shoddy workmanship of their repairer. You have a contract with them not the body shop.

It might be a little more expensive but I recommend using insurance companies that let you choose the repairer. Even if you don't you still have right of refusal if they want to use a known shoddy repairer - I have done this recently.

Good luck - and tell the shoddy ***** to pull his socks up!

Where did you get it done?

I had to get a key scratch fixed on my drivers door, and took it to the panel shop just behind the transport dept (just off Kenny street, i think its called AAA Paint and Panel), and they did a great job. Trinity ford recommended them. Its been a long time in the shop hasn't it?

i feel for you but have no answers if you are not a panel beater/ spray painter even if the work is blatently faulty / and the repairer says it is an acceptable job . the insurance company will not listen to you unless you pay an independant inspector. sorry but that is the way it is . then you have to dispute it at your cost until you prove it in court . sux doesnt it .
