Yeah those are in heaps of those shopping centre carparks. I think safeway covers damage caused to your car whilst in their carpark. I know a family friend whos car got vandalised in the carpark not too much, but they took it to the manager and im pretty sure they paid for it all. But ive ripped my front bar off aswell.. had to gaffa tape it on and take it home to fix it.

Why dont people take more care (pedestrian) then we wont need proper walk ways . I had a chunk missing when i pulled my bar off to put a new one on !

it don't matter what type of vehicle it is,you know there there therefore it's up to you not to hit them,if you do it's a case of bad luck.
there there for a reason.

Well ok maybe im being a bit blaze i dont think i would like one of my family members hit by someone in any situation.
They do not need to be so high though perhaps a small steel frame higher than most bonnets would be more suitable though or perhaps a rail even.

Ok lol the gutter thingy dont need to be so high, perhaps an alternative .
If they dont wanna change it perhaps they could add to it ie aforementioned pole/rail My ef is not lowered , I also agree people need to pay attention in carparks.

Dont think theres anything you can do about it. Put simply its your job to avoid it. Think about how someone with a low sports car from factory would go, if they had to accomodate those cars as well they would be like 5cm off the ground and people would just drive over them.

Ages ago, I caught my front bumper on a kerb (it actually pulled the right hand side out of the clip), yet my car is dead stock. The ride-height is completely 4WD spec, so this proves that some of these are way too high.

They dont need to be any lower if they either have signs that point it out or a rail/pole at a visible height or give us FORD parking

I'm just always really cautious as to how close I park, I'll stop the car and get out and go look how much further I've got.
They're always going to be there, they wont get rid of it because half a dozen people complain about getting their front bar hooked. Bad luck though, hopefully its fixed by AFD! |

Buggga Jason thats no good
There is a law that says that you can not have that yellow curb any more then 100mm high ... ( AT lest that is what a CITY COUNCIL MAN told us at a public address over this problem ) Its there to stop people from parking to close to the building AND at some placers there is Big speed bumps ... well they to can be no bigger then 100mm As the law says that your car is to be no lower then 100mm then if they build anything bigger then that then it is there Problem to fix it or any damage done to your ride is there Problem. Hope you get it all fixed before A.F.D. jason if not at least I wont be the only car with a cracked bumper |

If your car is legal height it shouldn't hit a 100mm high object.......
I'll have a guess and say the carpark is private property, not run by the council, so the usual rules on curbs won't apply. You could try a lawyer if centre management don't listen, I personally don't think you'll get very far though.

Unfortunately the onus is on the driver. To make the other party liable you need to prove that they were negligent in some way. If a standard vehicle would not have been damaged, then it is not the responcibility of the carpark owners to make sure no vehicles at all would be damaged.
Basically if you change your vehicle specs, then the onus is on you to make sure it will not be damaged or damage others property. SO technically if you lowered your car and then tore the bar off on one of these bumps and damaged the bump, you would be liable for the damage caused. cheers Scott |

well i finally gott to speak to centre managment tonight and the guy said that they have had around 20 people complain about them and as he said they have already paid out for 5 of them so it might be looking good for me
the lowest part of my bar is 145mm and the black part that runs from one side to the other is 135mm so thats the lowest point jason
