The LED's in the blinkers are yes, but the Orange 10mm ones came out red.
So i will stay with the yellow, i may paint the inside of the Lense with Clear Orange paint.

would be expensive but could you imagine using tri-colur LED's? Would be interesting if you had it setup to give different effects (ONLY off-street of course lol)

I drove around with the prototype one in the dcar for two weeks.
I had cops behind me at several times with no issues.

I just want somthing different, and i like the Instant illumination of the LED's.

I am looking at making a set for clear lense tail lights, i have tested this and it looks awsome.

Cost isnt cheap.

Looking good Kerry! Any more details about the setup? Are you using superflux LEDs? PWM? Resistors? Voltage regulator?

I have a PCB for a 3rd stop light but I have some questions that have held me back.

Jack i was going to use a heap of the Jaycar high mount stop lamp kits, but we sold out around Australia.

I just used a bit of Vero board and 40 10000MCD(high brightness) LED's.
I have used resistors, and for the blinkers i have a little secret.
;)

Nice one

One mod I have yet to see on a Falcon is red spray for the indicators (link below). It makes them look a similar colour to the red brake lights. Of course because LEDs are only one colour, they will inevitably lose output shining through any different-coloured lense.

Here is some progress pics, these should be finished today.

From the top, blinker, brake, tail light, raw ingredients, prototype tail light.

All these pics where taken in the same light, the light from the Brake LED's has upset the camera, so i left it to show how bright they are.

Nice work Kerry. What is the difference between braking and just parkers, out of curiosity? More lights or higher intensity?

Good stuff Kerry, I wish more people would take an interest in this type of thing.

You will need an LED compatible flasher unit. As for distinguishing low/high modes for the brake lights, I'd be interested in what you have in mind also.

For anyone wanting more information on this topic, I completed a full write-up for another site just yesterday.

Tim, the differance between the tail and brake is controlled by 10watt wire wound resistor, the curcuits are controlled by two different inputs, both with Diodes, and the tail light one has the resistor.

EDXR6T, when i say clear lense, i mean the same as yours, with the Coloured lense taken out.

For the Flasher, you can do it one of two ways.
You can do it with the low current sensing Flasher can, or you can trick the flasher can by using resistors across the curcuit.

Well i have finally gotten the tail lights finished.
They go in the car tomorrow.
I took some pics without the lense on them, and also a few pics without the Inner coloured lense.

No lense.

Clear outer lense only, the inner coloured lense's where left out for these pics.

If i make some like this i would make a bigger curcuit board, and spread the LED's out a little bit more.

And here is a pic of the finished product, the Bright one is the Brake light, and the duller one is the tail.

The next step will be the 1Watt LED's in the ide repeaters, then i will make LED front blinkers/parkers.

Kerry looks awesome.

I'd like to order set to suit 1992 LTD please.

Question. Did you use resistors or 10 per bank?

Great effort Kerry!! This is to my knowledge the first time this has been done on a Falcon. Certainly puts the new models to shame.

I would love to learn to do that, but the maths of the resistors and voltage confuses the hell out of me. Is there any way to explain it in layman's terms? :(
