Do you mean file transfer using mIRC? If so, that is simply done between 2 users using the DCC (I think) command/button.

I use to use it alot but don't so much anymore when you can just get the file of overnet and max out your connection. Its good if you can find a stable xdcc server with no queues. Iv donwloaded plenty of stuff gotten half way through the xdcc goes offline or the channel shuts down or something happens and you don't get your file. There are to many little issues with them but good if you have a fast connection and fast sender.

I just use www.ircspy.com

I have overnet and it takes forever to download a decent movie.

mirc is predominantly a chat program, but i use it all the time for downloads via FSERVES and XDCC.

as john said, packetnews.com is a great place to start.

XDCC is pretty much a 1 command download, where as FSERVE's are like the old DOS commands.....dir , cd (folder name) etc.

yeah man, i dont chat on it...i only use it for downloads, and only have it open when im downloading....its good though, i can usually find whatever i'm after, and so far have had no corrupt files that are always finding their way into actual P2P programs such as limewire etc...

You have just inspired me to starting using it again and just found a few good xdcc's. Gonna start the tedious task of downloading futurama series.
