Hey guys. I have recently purchased a Police ECU for my EL futura. Just to clarify, i was told by ford that my falcon may not run with this ECU as there were 42 different computers between the EL/EF series.
Has anyone fitted one??? did you have any problems??? I have not fitted it yet, as my car is still being repaired from my not at fault accident b4 xmas. Thanks Last edited by EL_futuraistic; 01-03-2005 at 06:26 PM. Reason: different question |

should run perfectly fine.
EB's with smartlock can run on EL ECU's :P

What kind of spec's/performance could you get from a police chip? Sounds cool EL.

Not much powerwise, the main differences are your shift points. It would also remove your 180km/hr limiter, depending on what police vehicle its from.

What I wanna know is where do you buy them from? How much are they? Also, how do they alter your shift points to benefit your car?

i would say that you would have to buy one from a wrecked cop car. i doubt Ford are going to hand one over to anyone that isnt a cop.

I quite often see them on ebay. A seller had a few when i last checked.
They remove the speed limiter. They alter the shift patterns similar to the power/economy switch. |

Theoretically yes you can buy them from us, i know they are listed (some are NLA), but having never had anyone want one i dont know if we have to check the car first or anything.

Go onto EBAY. FTGully Auto Salvage sell them on there. I picked up mine for less than $200 bucks.

incorrect. EF uses a completely different connector to EL/EA/EB/ED.

That, and it wouldnt work due to dizzy on EL, but not on EF. Unsure if an AU one would work?

i just got my ecu today, i cant fit it as yet as i havent got my car back.
Found something interesting, the sticker has EEC-IV on it, with a part number of 96DA-12A650-NB the ecu number up the top is 6DNB> Is this an EL computer?? will it run in my futura, or could i risk damaging something by fitting it?? |
