G'day all,
The time has come to announce a major change to the Club leadership. Replacing our former system of having a President and 2 Vice Presidents, a new Board of Directors has been assembled to deal with Club decision making. In no particular order, here are the official Board members: 1 EFFalcon 2 montyv8 3 Trouty 4 AdzELXR 5 Walkinshaw 6 Kenaz 7 The Goodz 8 EA2BA 9 Sundeep Former Vice-President Thanatos along with interstate Reps such as Lukey039 will also be invited to be a part of the decision-making processes. With that established, a couple of obvious questions need to be answered at this point. Why the changes? There were many reasons why the previous system was struggling. But above all, a recent incident highlighted that at times I was under intense pressure to make decisions largley by myself. Because I have been out of action at most cruises for some time, it made this even more difficult. By having a complete Board of members, a more structured system involving broader input can be implemented. There is the possibility of major changes regarding how the Club is run, which will be a smoother and more stable process under the new system. How were Board members selected? Taking on board recommendations from fellow senior members as well as members' wishes in the recent (aborted) Presidential candidates thread, I made the final list myself. It was not an easy decision, but the selected members are all well known and respected, with a proven record of maturity and enthusiasm for the Club. In previous years, I have almost always pushed for formal voting in situations such as this, but this was an exception due to some recent instability, including some unknown candidates who I feared did not have the Club's best interests at heart. I apologise if this bothers anyone, but I believe I have done the right thing under the circumstances. The last time I made a major decision without formal voting was the FordForums merger of 2002, which most will agree was a good thing in the long run. I'm confident this will be the same. The next step for the Board will be brainstorming our options for the Club's future direction with feedback from you, the members. If there are any concerns or questions, I will answer them here. I thank everyone for bearing with us as we complete these changes, and welcome my fellow Board members to their new role. Cheers, Jack Last edited by ilsautomotive; 11-04-2006 at 12:13 PM. |

Hey Trouty...
well done on achieving a rather hard task so successfully, and I'm sure things will just go up and up from here. Well done to all board members, and wish you all the best in your roles.. But, with saying that.. Can I please ask about the State Reps? I joined as a member of E-Series when I basically joined AFF, I have yet to really hear (see) much input from the QLD State Rep (I am not in any way putting Lukey(?) down), but I personally believe that we as State members really should have the right to chose our own State Rep.. I want someone that is going to represent our beautiful E-Series cars by organising and encouraging members to participate in events.. If this is out of line, I will apologise. But I would like to see a far greater representation of our 'E' cars here in QLD...... Cheers Kerri (one damn proud E-Series Owner!!)

representation, currently theres basically *no* representation in any of the other states.
WA has basically split off. QLD is up in the air as lukey is very busy NSW just doesn't seem to get anywhere. its possible to have state reps without them being board members. Quote:

I'd like to thank everyone for the comments and input. I hope to respond more thoroughly at a later time.
I have removed a few posts from this thread which refer to an unresolved issue that is being discussed in private. |

Rollin i think you met lukes brother and maybe him.. I second the comment about the QLD leadership but i also know Luke personally and when EFFalcon says busy he means it.. ill leave it to luke to explain if he wants to but hes a busy boy right now, so maybe the leadership role should be moved on...?
But apart from that i would love to hear suggestions as to what anyone in qld would like to do to liven up the cruising side.. its time we showed club pride and got out there together. No more crappy drive ins late at night to some sh1tty movie miles away at yatala.. we want sunny sunday cruises up the coast.. down the coast.. in town.. wherever we can show off our cars and get some attention (of the right kind of course) so anyone got any ideas?? suggestions?? raves rants any of the above..? |

Rollin: when is the Ford VS Holden show i would love to go along it would be good to setup some sort of club display.. even though my car is dead stock its clean as a new one.. sort of
And considering this is a club i would like to know exactly why this conversation about whatever it is happened concerning removal of mod position was. I believe we all have a right to know so why not post an explanation to stop all the speculation |

Cheers for the replies once again. There have been important changes so please read on.
Sundeep has been newly instated as the 9th Board member. Prior to the announcement of the original 8 members, it had been agreed in private that Sundeep need not be an official Board member because he only wanted an unofficial voice in Club decision-making. He had had run-ins with AFF admin in the past, which had affected the AFF/E-Series relationship due to his senior Club position. Otherwise there would have been no debate on him getting the position in the first place. Following the 8-member Board announcement, Sundeep requested I review the situation. And as of yesterday, the first decision by the Board has been to confirm his instatement as Board member 9. The one strict condition is that if his issues with AFF rules/admin reoccur, a revote will occur with the likely result of him losing this position. But today, we are looking to a new beginning and I believe there is no place for digging up past issues. Welcome aboard Sunny! Meanwhile, please be patient with us regarding the Queensland issue, it is now a high priority. The fact is that Vic and SA are our most popular states at this time, and we will make every effort to improve our presence in other regions. Cheers! Jack |

Love the Mexican Boys Club. Well done, fella's - a victory for democracy. Nothing at all like a self-appointed club exec, stacked with apparatchiks, for gaining the members confidence.
Can't wait to hear about the QLD rep. Cheers! Nick

There is a simple reason that SA and VIC are your most popular states and that is because the so called REP for Qld has been too 'busy'.. I am sorry if this offends but for goodness sake, stop making bloody excuses as to why someone hasn't given a rats about this state.. He should have stepped down long ago then... AND given the reins to someone that can do the job.. Pathetic if you ask me.. I think the REP should be chosen by QLD members .. I personally think a list should be made up and then the BOARD discuss it with just QLD members... *EDIT: I did forget to say one thing, whilst I wish all Board members well in their role.. I still don't understand why there is not a representation from every state..... ?? : getting off my soap box (for now)
