I'd go the black. Looks sportier and more individual than beige. Painting the dash beige would probably look a bit too much like the Cappachino colour that EF/EL luxo models were available in. Alternatively, you can paint the dash EL GT style. That is the big slab of plastic that surrounds the stereo, the instrument panel etc. is black while the rest is the standard grey. I think John (EFFalcon) has done this and it looks good.

Here's a pic from a car that was just sold though www.australianmusclecarsales.com.au. The black contrasts well with the woodgrain

I'd rather do the whole dash in black. If I keep my EL for long enough, it will get a revamp complete black interior

Craig, I don't think anyone on here has done the whole dash as yet, you should be the first, and while your at it paint everything else thats grey.

then post how you did it and what paint you used and i can copy you :

Will be interesting to see what you do decide to do and how etc..
I want to change my door trims and dash etc, just can't decide on the colour yet or what to do even...

Good luck

I dont like vht vinyl paint. It looks ok but on big areas you need to be careful as some spots can be darker then others. Also how do they say its a dye? I mean I followed the can exactly on vinyl and it still flakes off. You just gotta give it a light scatch and it comes off and its still the same colour under neath.

I seen an ea with the stuff and it had been on a few years and looked terrible. It went all funny and bleached out with the sun and was generally a mess. Anywhere that is a high wear area will also start to rub off and look terrible. Id be careful you can really stuff up your interior with that stuff

I have 4 cans of black VHT waiting for a spare weekend to do this...

I posted about this not long ago...

It's all in the prep.

Absolutlely douse it in kero/degreeser (same difference) to get rid of the 10+ years worth of amourall, very lightly wet sand it with fine grit, and do lots of very fine priming coats.

Should come up schmick.

Don't rush it!

can't wait to see this, craig can you please post how you did it when your finished, cause I wanna do this to my interior soon and I don't wanna stuff it up cause dad will never let me live it down. :

I was scoping out how every part in the interior comes off today, so if i do paint mine I'm gonna do the whole interior black

I was just looking at the surfaces of what I wanna paint and parts of the door are sorta cushy, does this mean they can't be painted?? or do you just use a flexable paint?

EF250kw had a full black interior in his EF.
doesn't look too bad, theres a few getting around with custom coloured dashs.

the dash and the cushy surfaces you talk about have to be died.
plastic primer would not work on it.

nah thats not him, EFFAlcon has a heritage green EF with custom BA bodykit on it.

it shouldn't be too hard to paint the whole interior all the plastics and parts come off easily. I'll just leave the roof lining and carpets grey though.
