Tracking Down A Guy In Brisbane Skyline Drivers Are Scared of the Xr8

Ok i was speaking with a guy on msn who i play a game called counterstrike souce with sometimes.

He owns a skyline with about 679hp at the rear. Anyway i was asking what broadie been like as i might get down there soon. Anyway we got talking and he said there is a guy in brisbane that everyone feared his car cause it running two huge turbos in his xr8. I was just wondering if anyone knows of this guy or is he on the forum. Because well i would love to get hold of him and have a sticky at his car. Just like to know what its got and some of its mods. Just reply or pm me but yer i want to check this car out. If you got all those little ricer drivers scared she must have some go.

Hmm i donno wether i would believe that. If i remember correctly, there is not enough room in the V8's engine bay to fit any turbos. I remember this add of a car sales site a while ago, and it was advertised as a turbo and everyone knew he was lying because of what i said before. Actually its late, maybe im just imagining things. Wait are we talking BA/BF's or early models?

They can tuck them up underneath, behind the steering rack I believe, anything is possible if you throw enough money at it!

Haven't heard of this XR8 though...

I have been told its that goldie urine colour, and the plates are blown 8. All unsubstantiated, but thats the story told to me...

you'd be able to mount the turbos down the sides of the sump like on the APS(??) monaros wouldn't you??

Blown 8 is that tennis ball yellow colour and I saw it at Bob Romano's maybe 18months ago, it was being fitted out then. I thought it was going to be supercharged as its more cost effective for the BOSS. However HPF have a twin turbo package for the GT which will more or less be identical for the XR8 bar the tune.

I have seen this thing hooting around.......... Couldnt hear turbo's over the rumble though. I thought it must have been S/C.

I'm pretty sure that would be invasion of privacy (against the law, obviously) if he was to give you any details of the car.

Blown 8 belongs to the owner of planet automotive on gympie road at kedron, its S/C not TT and has 600RWHP or their abouts, runs 2 XRT computers + aftermarket (ИИИИs me why what the owner has said) and is yet to run qtr. regardless of that it goes VERY VERY hard but weather its a smasher of some high HP jap stuff i dont know, never seen it at willowbank.

If he was to ask for personal info then yes it would be.. But simply asking about the car (mods etc) and asking if 'they' could arrange for Ultimate to possibly speak with the owner is not against the law at all.

exactly....what ultimate would do is give romano his email address to be passed onto blown 8, stating that he'd like to ask about the cars details......

Have a look in this months edition of Performance Ford (site sponsor) or check their web site there is a article on an XR8 with twin turbos in the magazine. Very tidy install indeed with 427rwkw.Also article about Blue Oval Garage also(site sponsor) with a twin turbo mounted with one where the air intake usually is the other where the battery is usually placed.

The HPF TT GT ( or GTP, I cant remember ) has the turbos to the front of the engine bay. The APS TT Pursuit had them under the car somewhere.
