Depends on what you want done. I know some workshops good at somethings and crap at others.

Surprisingly, I've heard nothing but praise for Lube Mobile. One of my mate's missus started using them a while back, then word spread, and I know a few people now who use them regularly and are pretty happy. I guess what they can do is limited though, and someone else might tell you a completely different story.

If you're in the blue collar trade, and take your car into a mechanics wearing blues or overalls, I gaurantee you'll get a better job than some one who walks in with a suit and tie.

"D-smith and son" on magill road. New car approved. Best service around, and we deal with over 60 workshops via work, and this would have to be the best of them.

Funnily enough, I've actually seen your ute in there!

Green BA XR ute, 18" rims, Chrome rollbars and custom plates. We are a supplier to them, so i go in there quite a bit.

Im from the South and I recommend a guy who knows his fords and owns 2 orginal XB GT's. His name is Vic and he owns a workshop on Sherriffs Road Morphett Vale called 'Sherriffs Road Auto Centre'. It's in between beaurepaires and Image furniture. Top bloke who doesn't muck people around, and he still knows what he's talking about it, plus is very affordable in his pricing. I have gone thru him with all my cars for the past 5-6years. I recommend his business!

The whole family is great. I know his boys and they are good fun to be around. Danny used to have this immaculate XD which was his drag car (sub 11s timeslips) which sounded tough as, then he put the motor into a cortina but never got around to racing the thing again. He sold the XD shell to his brother Terry which I think he still has. Terry is a wizz at building clevo's and Chris his other brother can get you anything from his work at Motor traders (assuming he still works there).

Vic always enters his valiant wagon in the Variety Bash too. Always raising money for charity. And leslie is a person who you cant get away from coz she always has a story to tell.

Fantastic family and will always let you know what is going on and will do right by you.

Has anyone used Graham West Workshop on Marion Rd? Have heard good things from Import drivers, and particularly WRX drivers, but wondering about Aust Cars?

OR S&L Tuning ? Will be lookin for a power run, AFR check and adjusting of FPR on my new car when I get it ;)

For general maintenance and repairs, try Kmart Tyre and Auto at Firle. Good friend of mine works there.... all the lads are honest and above board. I'd trust em with my car any day of the year.

I'm guessing no-one has used the above? I just rang BDT, and they quoted me $45 for a power run (1/2 hour) plus any adjusting time ($90 per hour on the dyno or part there of). Anyone else used any other places for power runs at better price?

Ahaha, kmart boy are you? I went to school with Duncan - we're best mates. He recently spent a bit of time at another workshop but is now back down at firle.

Have met aaron a few times and duncan brought luke along to a punk show where we all proceeded to get drunk as maggots - good blokes.

I'm no K-mart boy ... I work for Repco. We deal with them via work.

Hmmm, I have my special workshop that I take my baby girl to all the time, but it's probably just not quite close enough for you. Looks like you have enough suggestions anyway!

AVOID.

we (cruisingsa) had a dyno day there last year, wasn't any problems (except the guys there driving cars on an off the dyno bit harsly, nearly ripped couple of kits off, all else was good.

few other ppl i know have gone there for tunes, had no drama's.

one of my good mates went there, had some repairs done on his 200. End result thru various other drama's 2 months down the track - exploded motor, with this workshop accepting the blame. Agreed to pay for cost of new motor and installment (to be done by a seperate workshop). new motor was sourced and installed, they they refused to pay up and tried to charge for the stripping of the old motor (to try an source the problem)!!!

Give Specialty Tuning at Marion a buzz. Neville has done a few dyno tunes for a mate of mine and was very happy with the work done.
