Default Drivers Licence.

I just renewed my drivers licence and paid for another 10 years. This cost $106. That is extremely low! Why is licence so cheap? I would have paid $400 to $500. I paid it at the last minute because I saved up, now I have $400 to spend!

I don't know why it's so cheap...

I'm not sure if I paid that little? It was around that figure for mine when I had it done.

But I would think that a higher cost would be acceptable. This money going to roads etc. Might make rego cheaper.
Also they have a new thing now that if you haven't been done for speeding in the last 5 years it saves you about $50, which a great reward for the good drivers. Maybe it should go up for bad drivers?

In the state where speed camera is king I don't think that'd be welcomed. I get one every 3 years without fail usually. I'm pretty sure I have all 12 points at the moment?

Then only 15% of the state is making the saving, as the rest have all been done for a driving related offence of some description.

I just found the receipt for my current 10 year licence (Victorian) and it was $133 back in 1999. How could it have gone down?
