Default Sound like an exhaust or what?

Hey fellas, im about to go searching for a new exhaust for my 98 EL XR6... But I dunno what I wanna get yet.

I culd always goto some exhaust joint and get em to gimmi an exhaust they have on the shelf. Or I can gather custom parts for it and get him to jus intall em.

I was thinking of somthing like:
2.5" pacemaker 4499's - hiflo cat - single muffler - 2.5" cat back - dump pipe.

Would anyone else recommend a better setup (for performance and / or sound)? - But I want it fairly loud (hence the single muffler)... And what does the 'hotdogs' do?

Do you mind if it drones out on the highway?

Your system is missing a resonator, which will make it drone at highway speeds.

Wasnt aware you need a resonator - as my old car never had one (ED 94') And EFGiar's Fairmont dont have one either.

It is on the highway, but if you don't do too much highway driving you should be ok.

Also is it an auto or a manual, autos drone more as they always change to the highest gear.

It's all really up to you, see if you can find a couple of people that have EL's and 2 1/2" exhausts and see which one you prefer, with resonator or without. If you can be bothered you can come and have a listen to mine. I'm in Altona North until 6 tonight. Just let me know if you want to.

Hotdog is just another type of muffler. Suppresses drone but only by bugger all.
