Probably a fadded paint job that has had a coat of clear many years later to make it look fantastic.
Clear coats done at the same time as full paint job don't do this, unless totaly stuffed up. Fix it, don't know. |

average repair jobs can have this done.
if the paints not masked up properly it can leave a small lip that allows the paint to be lifted easy. once its started its rather hard to stop unless you wanna put some more paint over it.

thats what i did to my bonnet, still looked average (i did a quick job)
but it was an improvement. i guess it depends how visible the area is and how bad the peeling is.

When I had my engine bay resprayed a few years back - the idiot lifted up the clear on the top of the guards when he took off the masking tape.
I had it polished by a detailer, and it came up 99% better. When I got the bonnet vents put in, I got the spray painter to strip the whole front end, and respray... now its 110% better

yeh man rub back the whole door with p600 wet, wax and grease the door with a few lint free rags and then 2 good even coats of clear should do it, give time between coats to dry, make sure you rub all the shine off the door b4 clearin it, you want it to adhere well...all done
the roof i would get done by a spraypainter as blends down ur cant rails/quarter panels will need experience for a good result....ciao |
