Firstly, no he isn't. He has commited to his Nascar Schedule and that is where he wants to be.
Secondly, He would be able to, despite not having driven here this year.

I don't think he will be racing any enduros this year, as from memory I think he was asked this when he announced his nascar deal and I think he said he wouldnt be making an appearance. Though the fact that he hasnt raced at all this season doesnt mean he can't race in the enduros as none of the other international drivers have to race any other races in australia.

Thats very true.Marcos will not race in Australia again until he has finished his journey in Nascar as he is totally committed. It is starting to come along just fine after his historic 3rd place on Sunday morning

I believe a scheduling clash is why we won't see him at Bathurst.

Besides, with Craig Gore backing him in the USA he'd probably have to race for WPS if his schedule allowed him to come back for Bathurst.

The loss of Marcus was a huge impact on the V8 supercar series, as mentioned his chasing his dream in nascars overseas. I dont see him coming back this year, but it would be awesome to see him and rusty racing together again. Even coming up with a round win together!

Your not wrong. The loss of Marcos has left a huge hole in the series. Ive been told crowd figures are down, and Marcos would be part of the reason.

Marcos wont come back due to the schedule clashes, due to the fact he is totally commited. If he ever comes back it will only be when he is firmly cemented into the Busch or Nextel cup. If he comes back the important people will think he is uncommited and wont pick him up.

Generally, the overseas drivers are cemented into a series or have to reputation to go back and forth.

I hear repair bills are drastically down this year since he's been gone, too.

From memory, I think Caltex where pretty keen to get him in the car with Rusty if dates didnt clash with his Nascar dates... But they do, so we wont see him back this year at least...

Not as many Holdens crashing into each other trying to catch him. Skaife for 1

Marcos will be racing in Talledaga on the 7th October so we won't be seeing him at Bathurst on the 8th. Stop dreaming about it and support the other Ford drivers out there who by the way aren't doing such a bad job. On corrected score CL is leading the championship. Ingall and Winterbottom aren't far behind.

Far from it. Besides a couple of run ins with Skaife (which didn't result in much damage), the only other real carnage involving Ambrose was when he got punted off by Murphy at Bathurst. Courtney would have been involved in more $ worth of damage in the first 5 rounds than Ambrose did in the previous 3 years! (not having a go at Courtney - he has shown promise and will get better when he's gained some experience). Also the
reverse grids have ensured that the repair bill would be far greater than this time last year.

yes i agree the ford boys are doing us very proud. Not to mention that ingall is were he is this year with a car that is far from sorted or running perfect yet. Is it just me or is the nascar truck racing all of a sudden a little interesting :

For me it's that Marcos is doing a great job and not the racing.

Give him a couple of years and hopefully he will be back. Can't really see why he's gone over there, starting at the bottom.

But then the racing here is a bit boring with those V8s dressed as Fords and Holdens, nothing like the real cars on the road.

Bathurst has been hijacked. Bring back the real touring cars!!

Would you rather be THE big fish in a small pond, or move to the much bigger pond and try to become the big fish there? Marcos wants to keep moving forward, in V8s he accomplished alot, and wants bigger challenges.

Theres heaps of other ford drivers to be proud of! Whats Lowndes team mate the young fella called? Well he won the first round of the V8 Supercar series. He is one to look out for in the future I reckon, he's only young so he should get better with age!!

Jamie Whincup. He is settling into 888 really well indeed!

Whincup thats the fella. Better keep our eyes on him as he will be one to look out for in the future. And with Lowndes as a team mate he should become quite the driver! Not that he isn't already. Hopefully Holden won't poach him!!!

Well, Ford poached him from Holden at the start of the year!

I do admire his motivation in going over there. Unfortunately starting where he is, he will get caught up with the not so brilliant drivers, hindering his progress over there. Which has happened so far.

Its just his experience in that racing that doesnt allow him to race at a higher level. But then I suppose the top drivers there had to start somewhere. I think there has to be a lot of luck involved also. Just look at Webber at the moment.

I hope he succeeds over there, but it will be very tough for him. I was quite an admirer of him in V8's and he could have won bathurst a couple of years ago if the V8 racing was a 'level playing field' and the officials didnt pick on him the way they did, in the end resulting in a very unfair shunt by Murphy. Still can't get over some of the rules and ideas on running races that they have in V8s. Maybe that helped him decide to move on.

I only wished he got further in his F1 pursuits. I think he wouldve done well if he only got the sponsorship required.

Yep. He started his V8 career with Garry Rogers Motorsport in 2003. He got stuck with the old VX while Garth Tander got the team's latest VY. Of course Whincup's results didn't quite match up to his teammate. Garry Rogers wasn't happy with his performance so Whincup spent 04' sitting on the sidelines (except the enduros - where I think he drove for Castrol Perkins). Last year was his big break though, when he joined Tasman Motorsport, partnering Jason Richards. Whincup was showing lots of promise, but his performance in the enduros (3rd at Sandown, 2nd at Bathurst) would have been what made Roland Dane (boss of 888 racing) notice him and try to get his signature for 06'. Adelaide was actually his first round in a Ford!
