Default Looking at EF... Should I or Shouldnt I??

Hi Guys,

The opportunity has arisen to purchase an EF Gli with 170 000 km's on the clock 10 month rego. Price $1700? Maroon in colour, automatic, a few lil scratches and needs a tune up. Inside needs a steam clean. No problems with the tranny but needs some new leads. I currently drive a ea gl 89 model. I have put a lot of effort into where it is at now. The car was dirty but the paint was still shinny.

Some questions?
Will rims from ea fit on ef? Or is the stud pattern different?
What are these cars like honestly?

What I plan on doing to it if i purchase it... :
lowering,
exhust
tint
rims
stero

My ea already has all of the above done to it. So what would you guys do if you were in my situation?

mate if you dont buy that ef i will.
$1700 is a bloody steal espicially with only 170,000 on it.
The EF is a damn good car as is the EL and all the other E-Series.
The mods you plan on doing to the car will be prove to be more satisfying as the EF is alot nicer car with better motor etc etc.
And yes the stud pattern is the same.

BUY THE BLOODY THING!!!!!

I am really biased on EFs to be honest as I have now owned two EF XR6s and loved both lots.. (I have driven and been passenger in other e-series and have always said the EF is better - but that is just my opinion)....

They are extremely comfortable cars and with both mine, the harder I have driven them the better they have gone (if that makes sense)...

That is a brilliant price and the Ks are low (my current one has lots, lots more : )

If you buy it, you certainly won't regret it... You will wonder why you didn't get an EF sooner...
but then like I said I am really biased

You can easily throw the EA T5 in the EF - just need the matching pedal box and ECU.

Here's what you do: Swap everything (bar tint of course) from EA to EF, put stock EF stuff in EA. Now you have an EF with the mods your EA had, and an EA with:

*Stock ride height
*Stock exhaust
*Stockies
*Stock stereo.

That should save you a bundle ;)

So what does the EF need for RWC?

That would mean I would have to leave my nice Sunny State!!! :

Nothing really against other E-Series cars, it is just a personal choice.. I really do like the way the EF's look, drive etc...

It really is just a personal choice... but I don't see how anyone could think you would be wrong to get a car that is such a brilliant price (and it has long rego!!!!).. But again, personal choice has to come into it....

You can not buy something just because a few people say it's great.. you need to get a feel for the car yourself (again personal opinion)...

Good luck and don't forget to post pictures as soon as you buy her (clean would be preferable I guess) :
