averaging 500kb/s (half a meg a second) from Melbourne to sydney and back, bit less to Adelaide. - Bigpond Cable. If i download from the Bigpond servers though i get around 1.3megabytes a second

I have Optus Cable...

Brisbane to Sydney (Using the above link!)

3061 kb/s Download (which is really quite poor to to be honest, on cable anyway)
241 kb/s Upload

But Using Oz Speed Test Doing the Optus Cable Test.....

I get the following: (Which is closer to what i would normally get....)
kbps: 8650.08
KB/s: 1081.26
Mbps: 8.65

Don't be too dissapointed if you don't hit exactly what your supposed to get.. I can't be bothered typing out why so here is some info on why: http://www.internode.on.net/adsl/faq...adsl.htm#faq13

Personally id take the results from these tests with a grain of salt.. there are so many factors that come into what speed you get..
