Default Force 8...(with average pic!!)

Firstly,
you'll have to forgive me for the crappy image quality, cheap camera phone!!

Saw this last night and just had to take a look...
I likee very much, my first choice now if I was in the market for an FPV.
Fairmont GHIA interior with what appeared to be 19's and a GT kit and bobtail spoiler.
The font used on the badge to me looks very similar to that used on the VT Calais...go figure.

The orange car next to it was a Force 6.
If it's still there tonight I'll get some better pics.
Cheers,
Matty

About time Ford started producing some decent Fairmonts again. They had me worried for a while he he. I would love one in my garage. Can't wait to see one in the flesh...............

Did you get a shot of the wheels, or are they the same as the GT or GTP.

Interesting and thanks for the picture. I stiil can't help feeling that the name 'Force 8' is way too try-hard for this vehicle and it's target demographic. Lets hope I'm wrong.

Force 8? Isn't that the Supercharged V8, that's rumoured too make it's way, into the 2008 Falcons?

Everyone is probably thinking like you, Force 8 = Supercharged. Obviously it doesnt mean the same thing to FPV, Its just the same old engines in a Farimont Ghia, so Boss 290 and F6 270 into Fairmont Ghia. Maybe the Force stands for FPV forcing you to put up with there lame performance attempts. If they were trying to do what euros do, and that is make a power output and keep it throughout the entire lifecycle, then they have achieved that, however they missed the point. When AMG, M release a high performance model, the entire package is worthy of sitting above everything else, therefore they do not need to upgrade anything until the next lifecycle(Yes i know E55 -> E63, but thats due to AMG wanting to move away from superchargers, even then, it hardly a changed in outputs). What FPV have done, is release an average output, that didnt particularly make the car faster or special compared to rivals, and then keep it for the next 6 years(Provided no upgrade in BFII) while the competition moves on. Improves resale and ability for FPV owners to trade up, but after awhile buyers will see its a not much of a performance package compared to rivals. The only thing left is the 40th anniversary GT, and im not having high hopes for it. FPV = Hold back everything, until you are really under fire.

I'm a bit surprised at the naming, Leyland's coupe version of the P76 was a force 7.....
Love the twin exhausts though

i think there would be a bit of an uproar if a charged 8 was made by any camp. The more power a car has, the more it gets the back hairs up of local do-gooders concerned with road safety etc

Yes more pics!

BUT GREAT SCOOP MATE

Don't know if I like the badge font, but then again its a fuzzy pic.
Love the subtle yet muscular styling of the rear (spoiler/fat dual exhausts)

Great scoop Matty, I think the first public shot of a FPV Force.

But for christs sake, get a decent bloody camera phone, or phone camera lol :

Hmm im assuming the front will be exactly like the GT/F6 depending on whether its a Force 6 or 8... i hope when the official pics are released, that you can differentiate between the Force and GT/F6 range. cant wait for more pics!

That looks great - love the twin exhausts combined with the bobtail. Not sure on the font used on the badge looks a little big, but will wait for better pics
