if anyone could tell me what this needs or if it sucks or rocks.....opinions are wanted.......

Im with Ford boy if its a song I nead to hear it not jsut read the lyrics if its a poem un less it satrats out something like "there once was a man form Natucket" I dont want to know about it

If its a song - then its depressive and I think through the depressive grunge era of the early to mid 90's, then the depressive RnB, now the depressive soft rock - I might be going on a limb here, even Pearl Jam (dare I say it - even though I am one of their biggest fans) have gone and are still going through their dpressive stage - but people have had enough...
If its a poem - then its depressive and I think the advice of prescription drugs may be on order - sorry to rain on your parade dude, but its just so damn depressing... It sounds like you've written it for the love of your life - but its just too depressing to really get into or say anything nice...

It is contradictory. There is something in there which suggests strength, protection and positiveness. Then there is the emo/depressive side which totally contrasts the strong part. You are saying you want to protect her, etc, but then say you want to fly away and escape.
Im confused. I hope she isnt when she reads it.
