I never imagined that there would come a day when Diet Coke would be good for you. But that day might come after all, according to this. Coca Cola reps have neither confirmed nor denied the claim, and it's not clear what type of vitamins would go in to the new and improved coke. I've never been a fan of coke, or any pop for that matter, and this move wouldn't change that because if you ask me, nothing is healthier or more refreshing than a glass of water and a serving of fresh fruit. And I'm not sure how to interpret this move -- is it a step in the right direction, or a ploy to make people think they are making a healthy choice by consuming a chemical-infused soft drink that might not be any healthier for them in the long run? What do you think?
Anyway, the fortified Diet Coke should hit shelves in 2007. http://money.cnn.com/2006/12/08/news...ion=2006120813 |

Lol, im of the opinion that regular coke is healthier than diet. Sure, all that sugar is hell on the body... but that's nothing comapred to what artifical sweetner does to the human body.
Yuo guys seen the vids on youtube of what happens when you mix diet coke and mentos?

FDA in the USA has been reviewing its use for years now, apparently no concernable link to cell defects in humans. Of all the studies done - 100% of the tests funded by nutrasweet have thrown out suggestions of potential harm to humans. 92% of the independent research has stated that there's merit to the concern. What we do know about aspartame is that when the body breaks it down, formaldehyde is released into the body. Anyone familiar with the principles of embalment will probably tell you that formaledhyde is not something you want in your blood. Quantities are very small... but there's plenty of people out there who will down 2L of diet soda a day. The warning provided that "this product contains phenylnucwhatevers" is because 1 in 15000 people's bodies are not cabale of proper metablosation of this substance and it remains 'as is' in the body. FDA acknowledges that high levels of this stuff "as is" can lead to brain damage. Oh... and it's even worse at warm temperatures "But if its approved, it's safe". Lol, probably... but who wants to take gambles like that? http://www.laleva.cc/food/aspartame_...SPARTAME-47857 Drink up.

I was told years back that an old lady died because she let her diet coke get warm and it became poisonous.

reason hot diet coke? its nicer to drink when its warm and flat (as it gets when its bouncing around in the cab/tray of a landcruiser all day) |

All I know is that Diet Coke tastes like crap. And that too much consumption of artificial sweetner makes me feel dodgy, with a rumbly tummy and a headache.
Ill stick to normal Coke, or if I want vitamins, I will drink some juice, eat some fruit or even take a vitamin pill....
