Default Upgrading stabaliser bars

I'd like to know of anyones experiences with upgrading their stabaliser bars from the factory bar to something bigger.

What size was your original bar and what did you go to? did you do front and rear? And if you got bars from another falcon what model? thanks

i've done front only...

only went 1mm bigger about 28mm to 29 i think (from ea to eb 5l) and noticed the difference...

karl went from eb 5l (29) to whiteline adjustable, about $240, at hardest = 32-34mm equivalent, including nolathane bushes.... absolutely awesome improvement, worth the money IMO and something i've definately put on my to-do list...

I only went up a mm or two (stock EB 4.0 to stock EF 4.0) and noticed the difference. Also whacked nolathane sway bar bushes in while I was there.

I think I heard something about EF 4.0 being the same as EB XR6. I've got my EL one lying around so might as well use it.

That's why I put them in. They are a bee's dick smaller than XR ones I believe, but it's only a tiny bit. I think it was 2mm thicker up front and 1mm at the rear. I did it almost a year ago so I forget.

I dont know a hell of a lot about suspension setups, but wouldnt you be having some wicked understeer with stiff front and stock back?

A little bit. Im also running 235 tyres at the rear with 215 up the front so that doesnt help. Its not all that bad, but would be better if i had 17's and same size tyres plus the bigger bar in the back

Im also running king lows, koni reds up front and bilsteins in the bum. And a camber kit is fitted also

i would say yes, i fitted one to my laser and the steering was a bit stiff, got a wheel alignment and it was better than b4 i installed the sway bar... i would at least get a check up

may be differrnt with a falcon though since the camber is non-adjustable without an aftermarket "kit", which i think are about 100 or so

Sway bars have nothing to do with allighment. It may highlight an unalligned front end, but it won't change it.

EB/D XR front bar was 27mm, the biggest bar up until then.
The EF/L stock front bar is 27mm.
EB/L XR rear bars where 24mm.
I am running a 30mm front bar from pedders, and a stock 24mm rear.
handles fine.
;)
