Guess you have to take it into a repair store, home repairs might just make it worse, it may have broken the board inside it.

they are extremley intollerant to falls, unfortunatley. you would think, being made for kids and all, they would have some kind of shock tollerance, but they dont..
if there is a computer swapmeet near where you are lisa, take it there. they always seem to have at least 1 playstation mod-chip bloke... he will be able to whip it apart and inspect and let you know the damage$$ |

Im guessing the CD tray/laser unit is now out of alignment...If I lived closer to you I would have been able to have a go at fixing it...
Well, im assuming by "Wont work" you mean it wont read any discs? Or it wont turn on?

When did you buy it?? If its 1year from new, then you can get it repaired under warrenty (dont say u dropped it though!).
If its past its warrenty, and your up to it ;), then take it apart yourself and if theirs any noticable damage, take some pics and i'm sure i could tell you what needs fixing etc. But if u dont want to go through all that you can probably get sony to fix it for about $110 (not worth it imo if somethings just disloged) or take it to some local repair place (again, get a quote, keeping in mind that sony will fix it for $110).

Hope it's not one of the slim line ones, they look very fragile to me although the loading tray in the bigger ones can become damaged easier than the flip one in the new models

Don't know where MBFNW is, but if it's in Bris, and your out of warranty
I am the cheapest around. Have ALL PS2 parts available, and can fix it cheaper than buying another s/h unit. Art. |

sounds similar to what my son did with his PS2. I opened it up and the tray mechanism was knocked out of place. popped it back in and all was good....

When you got the PS2 did you register it with sony? they might be able to help you if you did, you could give them a ring anyway and see what they say, my little book here says the Customer Service number for Australia is 1300 365 911.
Hope you get it fixed. |

If i were you i'd just call up sony and say you lost the receipt and the unit is not working, can they fix it under warrenty... doesnt hurt to ask, especially if you can get it fixed for free.
