Default converting dvd to ipod

hi i was wondering if there is a program that can convert dvd's to mp4 files.
I know that videora works for mpeg, avi etc but trying to convert a dvd with it
takes a while as i have to find out which files are the actual movie. after all that it gets converted into about 4 separate files. can anyone help me out?

I have been using 3GP converter (click) on my PC with no probs and good results but thats for AVI and stuff that I have downloaded already.

On my Macbook I've used Handbrake to convert from DVD to ipod with good results.

Read this thread (click) for some suggestions on software and so on for Windows

to convert DVD to ipod you first have to use a DVD decrypter to converter to convert the dvd disc to files, then you need to convert the vob file into an mpeg file using a different converter. i use Videoera ipod converter. google the name and you should get a guide to use it and d/load site

yeh i use videora but the problem is that when i want to convert a dvd with it i have to sift through the dvd files to find out which ones are the movie (yes they are ripped). after i do that the movie is in 4 seperate parts (due to the movie usually being in four seperate vob files. what im asking is there a way to convert the disk whithout having to locate the vob files and the end result being in one file?

I use Nero Recode 2. you can select the movie portion of the dvd from HDD once decrypted, then recode it to HDD as a MP4. Saves it as 1 file.
