Default Jmm Ed Xr6

Well, i went to jim mock today and started talking about some work for my car. he then took me on a tour of his workshop when i notice a beautiful blue/purple (i dont know colour names) ED XR6 just sitting there covered in dust. i ask him about it and it turns out it was one of the first cars he worked on, it was his prototype test bed. its got 130k, the motor has a brand new bottom end, ported head, race series headers and exhaust, the motor has only done 600k's from melbourne to geelong and back for a holiday.

what do you guys think its worth? no RWC or Reg of course

he gave me a price i am happy with but i want to see what you guys think as well.

thanks

i think i might go put a deposit on it. its $5000 as is. its a bloody beaut car. sunroof, perfect interior. and i think i'll leave it as close to standard as possible, maybe just lows in the back to level it out a bit, coz honestly, the car looks awesome. i cant wait, hope it goes through. just need to sell mine.

does anyone know if the boot of an el is the same as a ED? just so i can use my subbie box which i made.

I'd say the boots would be about the same size. They may be a little bit different inside (due to the curved panels on EF/EL) but I couldn't see them being too different in size

not the inside. just the back part. right behind the seats there is a step, thats where my box is. mounted to the parcel shelf.

also, does the intake from an el (broadband manifold) fit the ED with no problems?

I do believe you may need to change looms!

omg, the more i think of it the more i want it. i think the intake will be a major mod planned, because its where most of the power is lost. i'll keep you all posted.

so now the typical question, do you guys think i'll get around 6500-7000 for my el? without stez and gauges of course.

well, i am gonna go for a drive in it on tuesday, and see how it goes. its been sitting for 4 years, and i dont wanna "sell an orange and buy a lemon." i'm not really a fan of selling a newer car for an older one, so it might be better off spending some cash on mine. far out i am confused, someone help

I'm wondering why it's just been sitting there? Why did they stop doing working on that and get that shagged-looking red EB instead?

If it's in good condition and comes with a fresh bottom end, head work, extractors etc it sounds like a good deal. I'd try and offer a lower price though :P

Get him to give it a good service, but I would say it would be alright.
The test drive will tell.

well, took it for a drive, and i must say it was a nice drive, however i cant justify getting rid of mine for the slight increase in power. it didnt really feel too much better than mine, which is pretty much stock.
