I complained about the ad that had the Holden ute doing circle work in a paddock to the tune of AC/DC, but only because it was a Holden.

I tell you what, the more I see of this PC bullsh*t the more I reckon the whole show's stuffed. If we, as a society, are so easily railroaded and held to ransom by the inept, the insane, and the moronic, then we've got big, big problems. Its a slippery slope into oblivion.

Honestly, could these people who complain possibly draw any longer a bow here? We are just wrapping society in so much cotton wool here that the kids of the future won't stand a chance. What about life's real challenges? The real dangers a person will face in life? How will they ever, ever appreciate it if we mollycoddle kids from the very moment they pop out of the fricken womb?

I tell you what, any parent who reckons that the add in question poses a genuine risk to their offspring shouldn't have had kids in the first place. In fact, in the interests of not compromising the human gene pool any further, such complainants should be given the snip straight away to ensure that their mind-numbing approach to life doesn't infect any more of the populace than need be.

Just wait for it though. There'll be some clown who'll cite an example back from 1979 when their grandfather's daughter's nephew's adopted half brother's kid one day managed to start the family Valiant and it could have led to disaster etc. The fact that the keys were probably left in it whilst the old man had 12 beers on the couch are details that are usually conveniently omitted.

Society governed by the lowest common denominator. I'm over it.

Society should stop being so sensitive and realise that it is a harmless commercial.

It happened with Toyota's "Bugger" commercial too. Stupid jerks with nothing better to do just finding something to complain about because they are still a week away from their pension or dole payment.

Bug off!

I give it 10 years before we're confined a room with no paintings or object items because everything in the world will be unsafe.

Life, even though we are an over populated world, is too precious.

Has this been pulled only in Oz, sure it's still screening in NZ.

Oh well hope there pleased with themselves, denying their compatriot the royalties for his starring role :

They banned the RAV4 ad with the husband & wife trying to kill each other so they could drive it, here in NZ, so these pathetic losers are everywhere !

This also brings to mind the Parent Jury wanting to get money off the junk food advertisiments becuase of all the young fatties

Kids don't generally earn money.. Parents buy the kids food...They are really just saying we can't control our kids and what they eat so lets blame everybody else.

To a degree parents can't keep an eye on everything but they can monitor the money they give them and raise them with healthy eating values so when the time comes for the teenager to earn a few bucks they know whats good for them

Lets go to The Rocks, and join the protests towards US vice president and lets make up banners that say we want the Hyundia advertisement back on the air. ;)

I dont mind the ad's been pulled, I thought it was crap. But come on, a risk of toddlers driving cars. Yeah right!

Whats next, they're gonna ban the Toilet Duck ad because of the risk of farm animals crashing their NASCAR while doing burnouts in the toilet bowl!

There have been plenty of instances where kids left alone in cars have caused trouble. We don't want to make the little kiddies think they can play around in the driver's seat.
It was a dumb ad for a boring car, only way Hyundai can get publicity.
Anyone remember the Huyndai precision driving team? LOLOLOLOLOLOL at that!

Lol. Whilst i dont think that the pulling of a TV commercial signifies the end of society as we know it, it seems a shame that ingenious adverts like this might fade out of existence eventually.

As if ads arent annoying enough... it seems we're destined to endure 15 minutes an hour of plain vanilla marketing!!

But seriously, i wouldnt be losing sleep over this one guys. There are real problems in the world which warrant much closer scrutiny

There was an uproar about this in the NZ media last year. In fact a kid that went to the same school as me wrote in complaining to the Dominion Post, a typical delusioned extreme left wing type, who should have attended the same school as 'Kapn Kiwi' or 'M14A McLaren', but didn't.

Sure there are more important things in the world today, but I wouldn't want to give these whingers the satisfaction of giving into their demands.

Well it's not their fault really, it all comes down to commonsense, and when more and more vocal people lack it, well, this crap is expected.

Why didn’t they ever ban the Toyota Rav4 adds, I’m sure it is illegal for a camel to drive a car, and if not then it’s defiantly unsafe to drive a vehicle while inside a camel suit.
And I bet it’s risky to try and surf a huge wave in a Holden convertible. And let’s pray that no one copy’s the captive add and go driving round the rooftops of city high rise buildings.

I didn't need a tv ad to teach me to let the handbrake off in Dad's HR company ute and "drive" it into a creek when I was 4.

why is it when most of us were young you could watch, eat or do anything and it did'nt harm us. now apparently if kids watch tv it can mentally impare them and any other normal child hood activities can have a fatal outcome. the world is getting more and more paronoid.

Brent> I take offence to that last comment, that’s exactly what I did when I was 4 LOL, thou it wasn’t cause the old man was drunk.

My grandfather was unhooking the trailer of his patrol and he had the keys in the ignition with the radio going I climbed in and thought his patrol would look better if I reversed it into that big tree across the road LOL.

Lucky it was a 4WD so it had the ground clearance, he hit the driveway and it just drove over the top of him without so much as touching him, if it were a sedan he would have been killed.
................
Advertising my left nut, kids do stupid chit when they are young period,

Now Where would they get the idea to take the car for a drive well I don’t know...., maybe from seeing there ********* parents do it 20 times a day.

Nothing ****es me off more than hearing stuff like this.

That’s it I am going out to punch the Boxing bag for 5 minutes

So just say 100 people complained about the add,

Wonder if 150 people complained that they wanted to see it back on the screen? would it return? bet it wouldnt!

Geeeze... im half tempted to send a "complaint" on the fact it has been removed...
