Have a look under the bonnet of a Ka, from memory the engine looked like an old 1300 crossflow with injection wacked on. Might be adaptable.

Have you thought about sizing up some individual throttle bodies from a bike? Plenty of those around and at least its something different.

if you have the cash you can buy twin webber side draft throttle body injector units to bolt up to the side draft manifolds but they cost a heap .i had a twin side draft webber manifold and once got 4 small throttle body injector units from a jap importer for $40 dollars each ,made adaptor plates to mount them to the webber manifold .they had a venturi diameter of 35 mm and were the hot wire type of air flow meters built in .they linked together realy easily as they had the shaft out each side .sounded like side draft webbers with a aftermarket computer,we even had coil on plug ignition but we had to drill and fit a magnet to the harmonic balancer for the ignition pick up .I wanted to put the magnet in the flywheel but there was problems trying to mount an adjustable pickup and it was easier to mount them on the front timing cover .it took a bit to make go but cost under $600 using second hand parts and with a aftermarket oxy sensor was easy to adjust with i think 6 little knobs from memory .it was a old type on dash adjustable as you drive type..haha no longer available but i did see kits advertised on line.its amazing what these old engines can do .we used a knock sensor to activate a mild water/metholated spirits injection set up .it was cheap and worked .stopped the knock and i never melted a single piston .there is lots of little tricks for poor people or people that just like to prove old throw away engines can make serious HP reliably .did you know you can fit performance gemini valves and duel valve springs to escort heads.they are much bigger than the standard GT escort 1600 valves they are only 2 mm bigger than standard valves and gemini valves are much cheaper than GT escort valves.
