Red face Ajusting Tierod Ends

I just put a new steeringrack on my EA and really need to ajust the tierod ends so the wheels are straight and not in a V shape if you look at it from the front.

I just want to get it roughly straight so i can get an alignment, atm when you try to drive you go allover the road and the steeringwheel goes crazy like something from Daytona USA :

help?

I told you less than an hour ago! Undo the lock nuts, wind the tie rod out, tighten the lock nuts.

haha, even I was able to adjust mine enough to get it to a wheel allignment joint(my dodgey mechanic). Haha. Do it on Ramps, makes it easier and keeps the wheels strait, if you havn't allready done it.

How did you find the K-Frame bolts ? mine were a bastard, get one in then the other wouldn't line up, though i think my K-Frame was slightly bent. :S

FFS Mick you lazy *****!

Jack the car up, get your **** under it and do it! You don't need to take the tie rod end out of anything. You undo one nut and turn the tie rod (you know, the thing that's attached the ends of the steering rack and has tie rod ENDS on the ends?). Then tighten the thing up and go to Bob Jane's or something.

Jesus you changed the rack today, unless you've changed the rod ends with it as well the lock nuts should be loose anyway.

Its all fine now ;)

The Steering rack was fitted with the tierodends attached as its out of Swoopa's old SVO.

I ajusted them so they are roughly straight now THANKS everyone as after i posted in here last, I just thought "Bugger it ill go find out" and yea its easier on this rack then my old one.

Damo - Kframe bolts were easy as I recently changed my motor and cleaned the Kframe.

The onlything ive noticed is with this new rack in, the steering is very soft, like 5 times softer then before. Is this normal?

My next question is...

I just had a wheel alignment done and im told my "Z Bar Bush's" are gone, The guy there said that the Kit for the front bush's cost $50 for the kit. Is it possible that I could install these? Or Is Pedders the best option
