my mastiff x lab ***** can rest on my misses shoulders (shes 1.61) so a full breed male mastiff would have no worries on an average bloke

My sister had a Great Dane X Bull Mastiff, beautiful dog, head about 30cm from back of the skull to the nose, but REALLY DUMB!

Boxers are the best IMHO

We used to own a Pyrenean mountain dog, Great Pyrenees is the American name. She was the runt of the litter so only weighed 60odd kg. She ate about as much as you average German Sheperd and as for dog poop, not as bad as you would think. The big problem was she would always sleep across door ways. VERY smart dogs. I wish I had some photos of her. Oh yeah, her name was Tiny. As a matter of interest, when she passed away in 1995, she was the oldest recorded Pyrenean in Australia, and one of the oldest in the world. Damm I miss her, intend on getting another one in the future.
