Default Anyone watched Boomtown?

Not sure if this will interest anyone but I'll give it a go lol...

I'm a huge fan of actor Neal McDonough (from Medical Investigation/Walking Tall/Minority Report and more...) and yesterday I received my DVD box set of "Boomtown" which I had to order from the U.S because it's not available in Australia.

It was one of the highest rated TV Drama's in the U.S but was cancelled after Season 1 (although they did make 6 episodes for a possible Season 2 but they're not available on DVD) From what I've read - NBC didn't give a clear reason for cancelling the show.

Well, after watching the 1st episode last night - all I can say is WOAH!! An awesome show but can get confusing if you don't concentrate. The beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. And the way they get in-depth with each character is awesome! Really wierd actually but addictive lol. I've not seen a show like it.

If you've not watched it and you're bored with nothing to do then check out the 3 snippets of Episode #17 'Blackout' ... click on "Video Clips" Lol I think the 1st clip will be enjoyed by most ;)

It really is a great show and I just thought I'd share

Enjoy!

Yeah, I used to watch it on Channel 7 when it was on. Then it got pushed back to a late timeslot and then it vanished. It's amazing that good shows disappear and stupid crap (aka 'reality TV') flourishes. If anyone at Ch 7 is reading this: bring back JAG NOW, bitches!

Anyway, what I really loved about Boomtown was the way it was presented. It showed the viewpoint from every character and that was great. And the female paramedic was cute... hehehehe

I totally agree with you! They put on crap when there are so many good shows just sitting on the shelves or being cancelled.

Ahhh yes - Teresa. She's great! I like her character. I read they turned her character from paramedic to cop. Haven't watched all the episodes yet so I don't know if it happens in this season or in the episodes made for season 2.

And I recognised Nina Garbiras that plays "Andrea" (the reporter) She was in another show that was on Channel 9 or 7 (can't remember) called 'Leap Years'. Another great show cancelled :(

Yeah I didn't think that was on for that long over here.

What is it with crappy tv networks. They did the same thing to a show a while back called American Gothic. It was a creepy but addictive show with Gary Cole in it (he's almost always playing a bad guy). It suffered a similar fate to Boomtown where after one season it got caned.....however there are talks going on that it may come back.

It's funny you mention that show because Neal McDonough just finished filming "Amercian Gothic" and I got all happy because I thought it was a new season of the old show BUT it's not unfortunately - it's just a movie that happens to have the same title. Damm :(

American Gothic was awesome! I loved that little kid "Caleb" with that accent. That was a great show. Why do morons run networks :
