Maybe NIK516 is asking the right question, does it need or even deserve to be saved?

Ford Australia doesn't need saving, the family car needs saving. And no matter how good the Halo car is it wont change the mindset of 3/4 of consumers who don't want what the Falcon offers. Even if it is good.
The GTHO (if someone at Ford has a brain explosion and thinks it a good idea)should be more of a "goodbye to an old friend" one off concept that can boast whatever Ford want it too without ever having to go near the deadbeats at Wheels magazine.

I reckon a brave man would try and answer the overall question about large cars....the VC Commodore and death of the Ford V8 were during a period of downsizing too....the public can change their minds like my six year old changes her underwear....not daily, but reasonably often.
