Default Costs to import from NZ to Brisbane

G'day guys,

If I was looking to import a Mustang valued at NZ$35,000 how do they calculate the custom fees and gst.

I have checked the govt website: is it like this?
http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=4371

Obtain a VIA

$35000 value
Gst - 3,500
custom tax - 3,850

Total cost: $7,350 in taxes??

Plus fumigation if required. $800.

United carriers (Auckland) reckon about $3000 roll on roll off.

Is there anything I am missing.

Would appreciate help from people who understand the process and costs better than :

Don't you have to own it a year in NZ before it can be shipped out of the country?
