Well, all of her;
Unlike the missus she looks fabulous first thing in the morning She looks fabulous late at night She looks classy even next to calssic metal She even looks fabulous in broad daylight but the best, I mean the absolute best thing I like about my AU is being behind the wheel on an empty road..... Funny you mention that POELWYK, I do talk to my AU, and stare at it for extended periods of time. As fruity as it sounds. Without ever having to curse it, which many a different car owner can't really say. Must be an AU thing.
Anyway, Ive just admitted to talking to my car, so I should be quiet now or I might be greeted by the nice men in white suits soon.... |

AU's just have that shape you either love or hate, I honestly didn't like them when they first came out but for XR models up, in time they grow on you and your hooked you see great lines !
Below my previous beloved S3XR8 The underrated AU !

Red Fairlanes also look great with the wide, red lights / reflector strip.

Wow what a thread. I have just been inspired to get AURIGA out of the workshop
I agree with the creator of this thread as to the most attractive part of the AU. the rear quarter shape is wicked, especially on a Series 1 What is amazing is the variety of looks that there are between each AU australia wide The model has incredible road presence. you know what it is from miles back and what a shape. unlike the crappy cars that are around now The difference in looks of each AU is mind blowing. From the awesome AU1 XR6/8 with the full bodykit and bi plane spoiler (thats what I own) to the great series 2 and 3 XR's, T Series, Fairlane/LTD's and the ghia's. My favourite AU1 XR's have always been those owned by Lotus and Sledgehammer right here on AFF. I just love the series 1 hood http://s110.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=IMG_1452.jpg the rear end of an S1 aint bad either (though would of liked a deeper rear bar http://s110.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=IMG_0261.jpg Last time I ever showed him off 2005 Adelaide AFD

For me it would be reliability.
240,000 on the clock.- replaced 1 x water pump,1 x starter motor & 1 x steering rack. Oh and the xr front from side on is the most attractive bit.
