hey i was just after some info;
ok so when u go get a dyno done (1st one), is there any thing u should do to prepare? i read somewhere that its best to do a service (leads/plugs, oil, trans) before u go so its all running smooth, is there any thing else? how much is it roughly for a dyno run (x2) i know it varies from place to place and city to city just roughly tho? i know if u go to a dyno day its around $45-50 so im guessing if u just rock up off the streets its around $75 - 90? finally a rough 'kw' for a stock 2000 Au Fairmont series 1 I6? i read somewhere that it should be around 120kw was a while ago so good chance im wrong i wanna get one done before i do any changes performance wise to the car so i can then get one after so i can compare the results and just for personal records too thanks brad` |

Lol I would expect anywhere from 100rwkw to maybe 115rwkw if it's in good shape. Most places charge 80-120 for a few runs. It's a good idea to get one done before modding, I asked to have one done before my cam to see how much difference it made but the dumb mechanics didn't do it

Mate the crow cams aren't all they're cracked up to be, also to get a billet it's a lot easier/cheaper to fit because there's no shimmimg required so it doesn't work out to cost much more in the end. If you want th details for surecam I'll find them for you
![]() you want audio of thr way the car sounds?

Ohh forgot. Sounds like you got it all covered, keep in good state of tune, if you really wanna go overboard I be doing things like getting injectors cleaned, fuel filter, check oxy sensor and of course like you mentioned ignition and oils but I wouldn't do the stuff I suggested unless you were going for a tune. For a dyno readout just to check make sure it's in good repair
![]() I'm going for a retune very soon just waiting for my tax refund

also unless the gains are massive, a dyno wont give you an accurate improvement figure. To many variables. Good tuning tool tho.

variables such as the dyno brand, the shootout mode, the ramp rates, outside temperatures etc etc, will all effect your kw reading. if i was you, id save your money and start modding. ![]() |

Thanks Brutha. Three inch FTW, lol. Its funny, go back a year and everyone bagge dout the three inch exhaust on the AU, now Id say its about 1 in 3 that have a three inch in there AU over the 2.5inch. Pioneers like Stiddy showed us the light, then Stav, Tibbo and me, 510Au and the list goes on.
