And your point being what exactly? How many other models listed here are derived from American / European designs / models? |

Model T
I think they are sort of underrated, after seeing the Model T Club getting around my area a few months ago, really opened my mind as to how diverse they were back in the day. And even now, being able to make them into hotrods they retain awesomeness, wish my grand father had of kept my great grand fathers T. Would be awesome to still have it in the family today... Inherit it. ![]()

back in the mid seventies when i was about 15(before hoonism) i went for a ride in an auto, XYGT bloody loved the smooth rush of power and the shaker heaving in the bonnet at every gear change ,
down the track about a year i was leaving the holden dealer that i was working at ,there was a MAGNIFICENT RED PHASE 3 parked in a driveway a couple of doors down from work, i mean it was just magnificent condition, i was checking out the car for GTHO features which it had , then the the owner turned up with milk and bread under his arm , i said mate i love your car, he just gave a smile, and with that he gently backed it out onto the road and gave it a small amount of throttle.......... ![]() it made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, some of the blokes from work that saw it also thought it was an awesome machine. i`ve always had a thing for the XY`s in particular and GT`s ever since. |

I'd have to say the EF Falcon range as a whole, but especially Fairmont/Fairmont Ghia.
I believe those last two to be one of the best looking 'out of the box' falcons ever made. Nice lines, wheels, exterior detaling, fantastic interiors and just plain attractive. EF Fairmont is the Ford that really got my feet soundly in the Ford camp. For the same reason, I'd have to say Fairlane by Tickford is a winner too. I wish I could give AU Fairlane runners up, but it still has an AU interior (which looks like playschool, ugliest interior door handles ever?).

But I also agree with Till_Lind about the EF/EL, hence why I bought one. But they come second place to the XB Falcon/Fairlane range which for me is the penultimate. They were more cohesive than the XC (square headlights...yuck) and not as plain as the XA.

Plain old XY Falcon or Fairmont. My needs are simple.
![]() Every time I see one I try to imagine what it would be like with the running gear from, say, our G6E...hey, it'd be something a little different from the "just drop a V8 in it" brigade...economical, stylish, it'd go like a cut snake, whack an RRS front suspension and rack and pinion steering setup underneath it with big brakes, and you'd have virtually a modern car with a classic body... |

Not to mention the large gaps between the handle itself and the handle trim in the AUs. Bulbous ugly fellows indeed, imo.
