Hey all,
Done a search but keep finding results of people who have re-sprayed parts of their engine bay and seen some good results, but need some advice on best method, paint etc. My BF XR8's engine bay is clean, I'm a fussy person but the rocker covers and plenum are starting to look a little faded in areas and I want it looking good again, like I said I'm fussy ![]() Considering I'm going to re-paint I may look at a new colour scheme than the standard black. But for those who may know or have done it, what the best paint I should be getting and how best to prepare for painting? Also if anyone has any pics, would love to see, nothing better than a Boss engine bay!!!!!!!

i'd use high temp engine spray cans, but depends how fussy you are. i used ordinary spray paint on my mid 70s fairlane engine bay for non-hot areas (eg air-cleaner, horns, etc)

If you don't have an spray gun & compressor your only option is that VHT or 3M engine enamel which I have never been a fan of
A lot of guys just use 2 pak automotive paint I've done my new engine in enamel. As the car has limited use it will look good for years I should have really used an epoxy based paint as its very durable and also looks good |

If you don't have spray equipment, Killrust has a range of epoxy based enamels.
