Guys,
I'm after your opinions here. I have an '07 F6 Typhoon with 86k kms on the clock, and have just test driven a '12 ST Focus ![]() My dilemma is to keep the Typhoon or trade in on the Focus. The 'phoon does about 100kms a week commuting, and monthly Club runs, so annual mileage is about 10k kms. What to do?? ![]() |

Well what are your thoughts on both cars? Done a pros and cons list?
Some here will say keep the F6 some will say change to the ST it depends on too many things. If your wanting to have massive rwkw and have loose rear end fun then the typhoons great in you want a quick, fuel efficient, modern car then go the focus.

Completely different cars. Better interior, quality and tech on the Focus ST, combined with better handling and quicker moving from point to point. Also better economy.
F6, on the other hand, will be faster, more comfortable on highway trips, have RWD benefits (and drawbacks?), and you would know what else to add to the list. Why not have both? ;-)

Engine responds very well to mods, but auto gearbox can become unsettled trying to cope with the extra torque. Good fuel economy overall: 9-12L/100km city, 8L/100 country. |

Get both
![]() You won't be offered much trade in on the F6 unfortunately, so keep it and still get the Focus ST ![]() |

If you are umming and arring now, means deep down you looking for a change
Focus wont be as fast, but will be more techie and perky F6 be faster in a straight line, but outdated tech and coming up to parts replacements like shocks, bushes etc time

Trying to look at with pure logic and no passion, the typhoon still has reasonably low k's on it, I'm thinking you may get a better price to kilometre ratio as opposed to when it gets over 100000 k's ? And the falcon age wise is getting on in years.
I'm not entirely convinced the small sporty car will end up hugely cheaper in ownership, but it has less ks on it, it's newer, it should be. |
