So what sort of thing are you looking for? I have a mate in southern NSW under domestic pressure to lose a few projects.

I dont know now. I was really hoping for a rough but near complete 67 impala coupe, 68-70 charger or a 2 door fairlane of the same era. Of course when searching for this stuff every knob out there has tagged their pos valiant or wb ute to come into that.
As for me, there are fairlanes i can get, but my issue is that they arent worth it. Thats only in the idea basket because ive been there before and parts and trim are pretty easy to get and they (used to be) safe cars in terms of not losing money. |

Nothing of that ilk (long, low, moderate chrome) on my radar.

Get a 1970s Lincoln Continental Coupe - they're worth SFA, slower than the Thailand special dual cabs but I'm sure with some timing and set of cylinder heads that 460 will liven up
https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...SE-AD-6343532/ Oldskool, cheap as chips, blow the back tyres off it everywhere, park it in shopping centres and annoy the neighbors looking like a 1970s era Carl Williams. Who cares if it gets stolen, you stack it or MILFs smash their shopping trolleys all over it at the shops. Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 09-11-2019 at 11:24 AM. |

Not sure that it qualifies as a classic just yet, but I think he's dreaming...

35K?? - id rather find an older ford/ holden for that price, even in average condition. Is it just me, the front to rear doors look different colours, yes it could be shading but its only on the drivers side. Its not uncommon to see this at traffic lights in the right light, you can normally pick what panel has been repainted or replaced. |

Its fair enough that 'Post modern' cars like bikes are also appreciating IMO.
Look how popular and an XE ESP is these days......'Last of the V8's". Theres also an engineered XF V8 wagon on carsales at the moment for $17k!!!! https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...-6173301/?Cr=1 |

My work colleague's mum is apparently advertising an old MB from 1958 'shed find' from her father. She wants 50k for it, but it hasn't sold after several rounds of advertising. It's unrestored shiny black with red leather interior. Before I heard the price I asked is it running, and is it something like a 20k -30k car? No, not running and not yet moved, and it's 50k.. lol.. That's got to be dream price.
Even if may not be rusted it still would need all new rubber parts, all new cooling system, new shock absorbers, new fuel tank, new exhaust, all new brake parts, etc. Probably some electrics, probably all new seals in the engine and transmission. Sitting still in a shed for 20 years or more doesn't mean ready to re-register. |
